Five persons arrested in Mangolpuri for killing man

Five persons were arrested on Tuesday in Mangolpuri for plotting and murdering a youth for his expensive mobile phone.

The incident occurred on July 27 in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area where three juveniles and two adults murdered the youth, identified as Ram Babu, for the gadget.

The juveniles in conflict with law have been apprehended and the other two, Shrikesh and Himanshu, both 19-year-old, were also arrested.

According to the police, when Ram Babu went to Sanjay Park, little did he know that some teenagers would eye the costly mobile phone in his hand and would devise a plan to murder him.

Unaware of the boys, he walked by but the group comprising of three juveniles and two adults stopped him and picked up a fight with him.

Soon, Shrikesh took out a knife and started stabbing him. After the victim collapsed, the accused ran away from the spot taking his mobile.

The cops soon formed a team to track the blind murder.

"During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the robbed android mobile phone of deceased was being used in Block Q-8 of Mangolpuri. Accordingly, information was developed and a raid was conducted at Q-Block.At this, culprit tried to flee from the spot but the team left no stone unturned to apprehend the culprit who was later on found to be minor," said DCP Outer M N Tiwari.

After interrogating the juvenile, other culprits were soon apprehended.

Both the blood stained knife and the expensive mobile has been recovered.
