Gururgam : The Gurugram police on Tuesday continued to make arrests of the people involved in the Bhoop Nagar mob violence where a family from the minority community was attacked. A total of five arrests were made on Tuesday.

The arrested accused have been identified as Anil, Gaurav, Pradeep, Lalit and Rohit. On Monday, the Gurugram police had arrested three people in which two people had cases registered against them in IPC.

One of the accused named Sunil had even been to jail two times in cases of fraud. Though not stringent, Anil (33) who was arrested on Tuesday, had cases registered against him under 279 ( rash driving), 337 ( endangering the safety of others) of the Indian Penal code. As of now, 10 arrests have been made in the case. All the accused belong to the same village of Naya Gaon.

"We are in the process of making arrests in the case. We have already over 10 arrests. We are interrogating them so that they can provide users with vital leads in the case," said a senior police official from Gurugram police.

The first arrest made in the case two days after the incident was that of Mahesh who has been claimed to be the mastermind behind the vicious assault on the day of Holi.

Even though he does not have any criminal case registered against him, it has come to fore that Mahesh (20) dropped out of school in the eighth standard and was unemployed. A brother of four sisters, Mahesh had lost his father recently due to cardiac arrest and was living with his 55-year-old mother. Majority of the arrests have been made from Naya Gaon. Some have extended support to the accused where they have said that their side of the story is not being taken.
