Five held for killing bizman

Ghaziabad: With the arrest of five persons, including two sharp shooters, the Ghaziabad police claimed to have work out the murder case of Ghaziabad based businessman who was shot dead in broad daylight by three miscreants outside his house in Kavi Nagar on September 25.

Amit Seth, a Ghaziabad based fabric trader was shot outside his house in Kavi Nagar area when he was sitting in his car. Seth was a well-known face of Ghaziabad and had strong connections with some BJP leaders. He was also nephew of Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Ahuja.

According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Gupta, a resident of Raj Nagar area in Ghaziabad, two sharpshooters- Akash and Pawan Kumar from Meerut, Sunder Singh, a resident of Dujana village in Greater Noida and Veeru from Meerut. Cops said that Rohit Gupta is the mastermind behind the whole incident and he is a third years student of CA. Police are yet to arrest the third sharpshooter Sagar, a native of Meerut, who is absconding after the incident.

"The accused persons, told police that Rohit was known to Seth and he had taken a loan of Rs 96 lakhs from him. As the victim wanted to expand his business, he started demanding his money from him. However, the accused failed to arrange money instead he planned conspiracy to kill Seth" said Sudhir Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad.

The officer further said Rohit contacted Sunder and asked him to hire some sharpshooters to kill Amit Seth for Rs 5 lakhs.

"The accused persons had planned to kill Seth on September 24 and kept on waiting outside his house but failed. On September 25, Rohit called Seth to Noida for a meeting and soon as he sat in his car, the sharp shooters hired for the crime opened fire on him and killed him," added Singh.
