Five criminals arrested after gunfight in Dwarka

NEW DELHI: Punjab Police along with a team of Delhi police engaged notorious criminals in an early morning shootout on Tuesday at Dwarka Mor in South West Delhi.
The criminals were wanted by Punjab police for murder, attempt to murder and car-jacking. Several rounds were fired by both the criminals who were hiding on the second floor of the building and the police team surrounded them with sophisticated weapons. The joint team arrested five criminals without any injury on either side.
The residents of the area were also shocked to see several armed men in plain clothes surrounding the building with loaded weapon while the criminals somehow got to know the police movement started firing on them. In the dramatic shootout, the Punjab Police managed to arrest five criminals, who were later identified as members of Lawrence Bishone gang.
"The arrested criminals are identified as Deepak of Hisar in Haryana, Sumit from Barwana, Tiku from Kanjhawala in Delhi, Sumit and Krishan from Jhajjhar in Haryana. They were wanted in the case of murder, attempt to murder in the districts of Patiala and SA S Nagar in Mohali," said a Punjab Police official.
A huge cache of arms has also been recovered from the criminals including five pistols of .32 bore, five pistols of .315 bore, one rifle of .315 bore, a 12 bore rifle and five .22 bore pistols.
The operation in which more than 30 rounds were fired was carried out after Mohali, Punjab Police team received secret information about the presence of these five criminals in South West Delhi's Dwarka Mor area. The team contacted their counterparts in Delhi and raided the residential premises.
