First-day care centre for children of police officials to be set up in Ggn police station

Gururgam: In order to reduce stress among the police officials and make sure that officials are able to spend a reasonable amount of time with their family, the first day care centre for children of police officials will be set up in the Sector-65 police station.

After its implementation, this is going to be the first of its kind initiative not only in the city but even in the state of Haryana.

This is one of the major steps that is being taken to reduce the stress levels among the officials and to make sure that they spend more time with their family.

After a police constable shot dead the wife and son of the additional sessions judge, it was observed that various measures are to be taken to reduce the mental stress among the officials.

There are plans by the state to also invest in the psychologists which will help in the counselling of the 4,000 strong police force.

The difficulties in dealing with the mental health of the police personnel were further highlighted as the Gururgam police do not have the mental counsellor.

Such is the state of affairs that there have not been any sessions of mental wellness which has been organized for the police officials.

The lackadaisical approach of ignoring the mental health of police officials continue even after the incident of Palwal that occurred on January 2 this

year.

Continuous innovations are being up daily in the police station in the past to make it a friendlier place.

For a city which has grabbed headlines in the recent past for rising sexual crimes against children, the Gurugram police has now set up a special centre for victimised children.

Earlier, the first child-friendly police station, named Phulwari (garden of flowers), is been set up at Sector-51 police station.

The objective of the professionals behind this unique police station will be not only to deal with the children affected by sexual crimes but also to those affected by domestic violence and other major misdeeds in their households.
