Fire breaks out at office of Gzb Development Authority

GHAZIABAD: A fire broke out at the office of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Tuesday morning, which gutted the vice-chairman's office and the conference hall, said GDA officials.
Among the other offices that got charred were that of the vice-chairman's personal secretary, office of financial controller and chief town planner's office.
According to a GDA official, a fire broke out around 9.30am. As the staff saw smoke coming out of the office, they immediately alerted police. No one was injured as very few employees were present at the time. However, property worth about Rs 20 lakh was damaged.
A fire department official said that four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were doused in an hour.
GDA officiating vice-chairman Ravindra Godbole said no damage was caused to any files or official papers.
