FIFA U-17: Metro services to be extended on match days

New Delhi: To accommodate the better facilities for soccer lovers, Delhi Metro made several arrangements for junior FIFA World Cup matches scheduled in Delhi since October 6. The DMRC prepared special time table with a frequency of 3 minutes and 20 seconds till 11 pm.
According to a press statement, 10 manual tickets counters have been opened at ground levels of JLN Stadium Metro Station whereas six additional manual counters are opened at Jangpura Station on match days so that sudden rush of passengers can get tokens at a fast pace with pre-vended tokens available at these special counters at the ground level.
Officers have been deployed on special duty at Operation Control Centre to closely supervise and facilitate smooth services.
Average ridership at these stations in September was around 10,000 and 7,000 respectively, which increased by over 100 per cent on first two days on October 6 and 9.
