Festive season in Delhi likely to witness rains

NEW DELHI: Delhiites are very likely to witness heavy rains and thunderstorm in the upcoming festive season, the Metrological Department has predicted.
Besides, heavy rains in the next two days, cloudy skies and thunderstorm have been predicted till Sunday.
Moderate to heavy rains will lash Delhi and adjoining regions of Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gurugram by September 22. The weather will become pleasant, with cloudy skies leading to drop in temperature, bringing relief from the prevalent humid weather conditions to Delhiites.
September began on a rainy note for Delhi-NCR, but since then, the weather remained mostly dry, with isolated light rains. Monsoon starts retreating from Delhi around September 21.
Delhi is one of the eight states in India reeling under monsoon deficiency this year. The national Capital depends on the annual monsoon for rain, running from late June to September.
