Female wardens used to transfer phones in jail

GURUGRAM: In another case of negligence in jails, 30 mobile phones were seized on Thursday from the premises of the prison in Bhondsi jail. While there has already been complaints of officials being in cahoots with the prisoners what has now come as a revelation is the involvement of female wardens also in transferring the phones to the prisoners.
In comparison to their male counterparts, there were less stringent measures that were adopted in checking the female officials. This was used as an advantage by the women officials who used to hide the phones in their uniform, claim sources.
Presently there are two women officials who have been transferred after the allegations were leveled against them. Investigations are underway and there is a possibility of FIR being registered against them. There have been more than 100 phones that have been recovered from Bhondsi jail this week.
Even though the jail authorities claim that this is a process to cleanse the system of functioning at the jail, the opposition has raised the issue of nexus between police-politicians and the criminals. Providing his views on the issue, former Chief Minister of the state Bhupender Singh Hooda said that jammers must be installed at the earliest in the jail.
With large number of dreaded gangsters locked up in Bhondsi jail in Gurugram, the officials in Gurugram Police are becoming wary of the gangsters carrying out their nefarious activities inside the premises of the jail.
