Family cries murder after kid run over by school bus

Gurugram: Family members of 3-year-old Rakshit who was killed on Saturday after his school bus ran over him has taken a new turn. Earlier, the family thought it was a freak accident, however, they now alleged that it was a cold blooded murder after seeing the CCTV images.

The family along with the relatives staged a massive protest on Wednesday against the police inaction against the driver. The protestors demanded that police file an FIR under Section 302 of IPC, not under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) into the case.

Their anger was further fuelled after allegations that the protestors were being mistreated by the police official on Tuesday. The massive blockade resulted in not only slowing the traffic but also left many

college students who were appearing for the examinations stranded.

"It seems that the police have colluded with the school authorities and is therefore not interested in penalising the culprit. The law enforcement officials have charged him under lighter section. However, after viewing the CCTV images we are convinced that it is a cold blooded murder," said one of the relatives of the deceased.

With the situation going out of control, Ashok Bakshi DCP (south) along with other officials came to the spot to allay the anger.

The whole controversy started when Rakshit, who studed in Kindergarten grade of a private school, was crushed under the wheels of the school bus. The CCTV images showed that on Saturday morning he was trying to board the bus. However, before he could climb on the bus, the driver started driving thus resulting in a deadly mishap.

The protestors have also demanded from the district administration that strictest of action should be taken on the school as it did not abide by the safety norms.
