Explore implementation of health scheme: LG to Delhi police chief
New Delhi: LG Anil Baijal on Thursday reviewed Delhi Police housing, amenities in police stations and field offices and status of police station buildings. According to Raj Niwas press statement, Delhi Police made a detailed presentation in this regard. LG was informed about the accommodation of constabulary and their satisfaction levels including future planning regarding housing.
"LG was also apprised that Delhi Police is pursuing for the revival of Delhi Police Housing Corporation (DPHC) for minor civil works of Delhi Police," added press statement. Currently, the satisfaction level of housing in Delhi Police is 18.83 percent. It was informed that 701 quarters are under construction, 491 are being sourced from DDA and proposal of 4,865 staff quarters at Dheerpur is being followed up. "It was informed that all future projects of Delhi Police will have 30 percent components of Housing," the statement reads.
LG directed Delhi Police to expedite its efforts to augment housing satisfaction level for its staff and monitoring of projects of housing and Thana Buildings every month. The LG instructed Delhi Police to coordinate with land-owning agencies for allotment of land in respect of constructions of flats. He stressed that all basic amenities should be provided in police stations and special provisions should be made for women staff for changing room, separate bathrooms and toilets. He also urged that senior officers should inspect Thanas periodically for checking the status of these facilities and to ensure their good condition.
LG Baijal directed Commissioner of Police, Delhi to review the status of on-going police stations projects and allotment of land for future projects so that the remaining work would be completed in a time-bound manner and pursue with O/o CS, Delhi and VC, DDA.
The LG advised Commissioner of Police, Delhi to explore the implementation of mandatory "Annual Health Checkup Scheme" in respect of Delhi Police personnel as well apart from other ongoing measures to manage stress levels and health issues related to it and improve the productivity of force.
