Explore best global practices: LG tells EDMC

NEW DELHI: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Saturday visited the East Delhi Municipal Corporation headquarters and directed the EDMC Commissioner to explore the best global practices in solid-waste-management including sanitary landfill at Ghazipur.

On this occasion, EDMC Commissioner Ranbir Singh gave a presentation on solid waste management in the East Delhi.

During the presentation, the Commissioner apprised the LG that at present the waste handling capacity of the waste to energy plant at Ghazipur stands at 1300 MT per day. After handing over land, as requested by the concessionaire, the waste processing capacity of the WTE plant would be increased to 1,900 MT per day. Thereafter, by augmentation of power generation equipment, the capacity of the plant would go up to 2500 MT per day.
