Ex-army man who brutally murdered six attempts suicide

Faridabad: Naresh Kumar, the ex-army man who brutally murdered six persons earlier in January, tried to commit suicide in Faridabad jail. The 37-year-old tried to hang himself in the washroom. The police officials, however, quickly realised the problem and prevented him from ending his life. Dhankar who was working in the agriculture department in the Haryana government went on a killing spree and murdered six people. Among the six people murdered, there were two women.
The series of insensitive murders started when he first murdered a private security guard. At 2:37 am on January 2 in a private hospital at Palwal where he first killed a lady named Anjum who was attending her relative admitted in the ICU. The lapses in hospital security as well the law and order procedures were clearly exposed as the murderer was able to escape from the hospital after hiding in the washroom for some time.
In the span of two hours, he killed anyone whom he found at that time. Around 4 am, the police received a call that a serial killer was targeting people at his will. He was finally caught at around 7 am at Adarsh Nagar but not before he targeted certain police officials who were there to get him. He suffered a brain haemorrhage and received treatment in Safdarjung hospital before being arrested.
