'Every citizen of New Delhi should purchase dustbin instead of pizza'

New Delhi: "Every citizen of New Delhi should take a pledge to purchase a dustbin instead of a pizza almost in a day for use of it in their households, offices, shops and any other workplace for segregating the waste at source place in dry and wet waste. And in my opinion, it would be the better and appropriate way for segregation of waste at source for transforming New Delhi area into Clean, Green and sustainable Healthy Environment," NDMC Swachhta Brand Ambassador Deepa Malik said on Sunday.

Malik said that if a special abled person like her can achieve the milestone by getting the medals in Para Olympic, why not the citizen of New Delhi area can get the top rank in Swachhta Sarvekshan 2018.

She added that the Safaikaramcharis, the front fighters of NDMC in association with people of all walks of life are very much capable and competent to make it in reality.

NDMC officials said that the theme of the training programme was "Segregation of Waste at Source" and as many as 200 representatives of RWAs, Market Traders Associations (MTAs) and the persons engaged in Door-to-Door garbage collection system had participated in the training programme.
