Even after receiving injuries, constable nabbed two robbers

New Delhi: Even after receiving injuries, a constable from West district showed an exemplary courage and with his team members, he nabbed two robbers after a hot chase in Kirti Nagar area on

December 2.

Police claimed that they have also arrested a goldsmith and another criminal in the case. Police identified the accused as Jitender (33), Tarun (20), Sunny Kumar (30) and Lakhan, a goldsmith from Regarpura Karol Bagh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bharadwaj claimed that on December 2, at 2.25 pm when the complainant was waiting for his known person at Ramesh Nagar Circle, near Community Center, two persons on a motorcycle arrived and stopped their vehicle near him.

The pillion rider showed him a dagger and asked him to give all the valuables and money. "The complainant gave them his purse and both the criminals swiftly escaped away from the spot. The victim made a PCR call in this regard," said the DCP.

She further stated that two patrolling motorcycles being driven by the constable (Ct) Satish and pillion rider head constable (HC) Vinod and another motorcycle being driven by Ct Sanjay and pillion rider Ct Sanjeev started chasing the robbers from different directions.

"The robbers sensed the chase by Ct. Sanjeev and Ct Sanjay. They intentionally turned their motorcycle towards the residential area of Sharda Puri. Ct. Sanjeev, showing exemplary courage slung in the air from speeding motorcycle on robbers' bike and caught hold of the rider," DCP Bharadwaj said.

Police claimed that both had fallen on the ground and Ct. Sanjeev sustained injuries, but the brave constable did not let the robbers flee. During this scuffle, the motorcycle of the robbers also fell down.

The pillion rider tried to run away, but he was chased on foot by Ct Sanjay. In the meantime, the other police personnel chasing these robbers on another motorcycle also reached there and they all finally pinned down the second robber.

Both the accused were identified as Tarun and Jitender. From their instance, other two accused were nabbed after several raids conducted under the leadership of Anil Kumar Sharma, (SHO) Kirti Nagar.
