EPS-95 pensioners to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on February 27

New Delhi: EPS-95 pensioners, under the banner of Rastriya Sangharsh Samiti (National Agitation Committee) will hold a protest on February 27 at Jantar Mantar to press for their demands of increasing their pension to Rs 7,500 plus DA.

They will also hold a protest march to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and draw the attention of the government towards the Supreme Court order which suggested better pension and living standards for the retired employees.

On March 15, the protesting EPS95 pensioners will hold a 'Rail Roko Andolan' in the various parts of the country. The Rail Roko Andolan will be held in Gwalior (Northern India), Kolkata (Eastern India), Bhusawal (Western India), Bengaluru (Southern India).

Pensioners have already written letters to the President of India in their and their family's own blood to allow them to take active euthanasia. President of All India EPS-95 Pensioners' Sangharsh Samiti Commander, Ashok Raut, has informed that it is a serious matter of life and death for 63 lakh pensioners and their families.

The decision to hold the protest was taken during the emergency meeting of the central executive body. More than 250 members from 16 states participated in the meeting. The key decisions taken during the meetings were the strong condemnation of the unions supporting the view of Rs 3000 as minimum pension, keeping the option of the every other alternatives open, NAC will continue its protest until their demands are met. Several other decisions were taken during the meeting including all the rights to make any decision is given to the NAC president Commander Ashok Raut .

Commander Raut further informed that they've organised 'Bhiksha Andolan', mailed 12 lakh postcards to the Prime Minister, shaved their heads in protest outside District Magistrate's offices, sent appeals through DM offices, and even organised a lockdown protest of regional EPFO offices to draw the attention of the administration.He further warned the consequences in the Lok Sabha elections if the government fails to take necessary steps towards their demands.

He reminded the government that they are yet to fulfil their promises and that these 63 lakh pensioners and their families which amounts to three and half Crore shall cast their votes wisely in the forthcoming elections.

The pensioners are not in a the state to give more time to the government as they are dyeing every day. Prior to reach this extrim step , They even held an indefinite hunger strike with effect from 04 December 2018 . Their 5000 members also organised Atma dahan/ self immolation on 07 December 2018 but they withdrew it after getting an firm assurance from the Union Labour and Employment Minister Santosh kumar ji Gangwar. The pensioners' indefinite hunger strike in Bulana (Maharashtra) is on . Today is their 51 day. In Bhind, Madhya Pradesh also the hunger agitation is still on from 26 days.
