EOW registers two separate FIRs against realty firm for cheating buyers
New Delhi : Two separate cases were registered by Economic Offences Wings of Delhi police against a private real estate company and its senior officials including directors for cheating buyers.
In the first case, police said that the Complainant alleged that in 2005, initially, she booked a residential plot of 350sq yards in the project of a private company at Kundali in Sonepat after paying a booking amount of Rs.6.10 lakh. "Alleged Company allotted plot with the unit number to the complainant," police said. The investigating agency probe revealed that despite payment of Rs.21.15 lakh to the alleged company, neither the possession of the plot was given nor the amount taken returned to the complainant.
Police further added that another case was registered against the same company. "It has been alleged by the complainant that in the year 2009, he booked a residential plot of 250 sq yards bearing number L-426 in the name of his wife in the company project," police said. He paid 90 per cent (17 lakh) payment of the total consideration amount.
On visiting the site, it was found that the said plot is not in the possession of the accused company and it also falsely claimed that the requisite sanctions had been obtained from authorities. Further, the development of the entire L Block has not been made even after the receipt of EDC charges in the year 2009. Even after the passage of eight years, the alleged company neither gave possession of the plot nor returned back the amount received from the complainant. The case was registered under sections 406/420/120B IPC in EOW police station.
