EOW probe on in fake DDA scheme
New Delhi: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police are probing a case where 15 persons were induced to deposit money under the DDA land pool scheme by promising flats. The investigating agency found that no such scheme was approved by DDA.
Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary told Millennium Post that the investigation is going and so far, no one has been arrested.
In the complaint to city police, the complainant named about a welfare society for cheating by wrong promises of making house on agricultural land in Mukhmel Pur Village.
"They (complainant) have applied for the flat from society. But instead of making flats the said society has claimed that it has purchased agricultural land in Mukhmel Pur village of Delhi and promising that they will make flats on that land and they are waiting for the DDA land pooling policy, which is illegal as no one can make flats on agricultural land so they are actually misguding us," the complainant told the police.
The complainant further told that as we all have given money for making flats under DDA land pooling policy but instead the society is using public money in giving a donation and doing other expenses without consent of all the
"The society has withdrawn cash amount of Rs 35 lakh on the name of payment of land cost," police said.
A case under sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property),120 B (Punishment of criminal conspiracy) of IPC has been filed.
