EOW arrests 2 officials of Amrapali builders
New Delhi: The Economic and Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has arrested two prominent officers of Amrapali Builders in case of cheating.
Additional Commissioner of Police (EOW) Suvashis Choudhary said that the accused identified as Chander Prakash Wadhwa ( CFO) and Anil Mittal (statutory auditor) of Amrapali group companies have been arrested last evening from Delhi.
Additional CP further said that the accused were nabbed for being instrumental in creating large no of bogus companies for the purpose of diversion of funds of home buyers by employing their known persons and relatives as director/ key management posts in those companies and other offences.
The case was registered under sections 406/409/420/120 B IPC in 2017.
"Today they were produced before the Ld CMM Karkardooma courts and five days police custody obtained. Further investigation is in progress," said Addl CP.
He further added that three directors of Amrapali viz Anil Kumar Sharma, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar are already in judicial custody.
The complainant in the case told police that the company had advertised for booking flats in the year
2010.
He booked three BHK flat and paid money but company failed to give possession of the property in January 2015 and construction work has been stopped since last six month for unknown
reason.
Recently in July EOW registered two cases against Amrapali for cheating. One of the cases which was registered on Monday. EOW said that the complainant had booked a three BHK and three toilets and servant.
The booking amount was taken and the builder-buyer agreement was executed. Later on, he came to know that requisite approval is not accorded to the project.
