Elderly woman murder: Main accused held

NEW DELHI: After killing an elderly woman in Lajpat Nagar area, a 24-year-old man was on run for more than three months. During the period, his four associates were arrested and now it was the time of the main conspirator who was arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, the accused was identified as Beni Prasad Yadav. A reward of Rs 50,000 was declared from Delhi Commissioner of Police for the arrest of the accused. Police claimed that the accused was arrested on the basis of information that he was in Bahraich, UP on November 2.
"We had inputs that the accused would be traveling around the UP-Nepal border. Our team had camped near Baharaich and the accused was identified by our informers. He was arrested after a brief chase by the police team," police official said.
Police claimed that on July 11 the accused Beni Prasad Yadav along with his associates Arvind Paswan, Roshan, Sonu Paswan and Shesh Narayan committed dacoity of cash and jewellery worth more than Rs 1 crore from a house in Lajpat Nagar-IV, New Delhi and during the incident, on resistance of the house owner (lady), they committed murder. Accused persons roped in a person Roshan (Domestic help) at the place of incident and conspired the whole dacoity-cum-murder.
