Elderly siblings found dead inside house

New Delhi: Two elderly siblings were found dead at their home in North West Delhi's Rana Pratap Bagh on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Kamal Khosla (95) and his sister Rajkumari (75). Both are unmarried and they were living alone.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Vijayanta Arya said that they are not suspecting any foul play in the case.

According to police, they were alerted after neighbours made PCR call. They are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the reason behind the death.

The probe is also going on whether the incident might happen due to illness or the heat. The brother was dependant on his sister because of his health issues. The extent of decomposition of the bodies suggested that the deaths occurred might be over the last two days.

Police said that the deceased's family members and other known persons were trying to contact brother-sister but they were unable to get in touch with them.

Later the neighbours founding it suspicious made PCR call. The police team reached the spot and found both of them lying dead.

The smell was also coming out of the room where the bodies were found. Police have questioned some persons in the case.

According to Delhi Police in 2018, local police conducted 34,097 security audits, Beat Officers made cumulative 5,23,056 visits to and 3,78,794 telephone calls were made to senior citizens.

3,650 senior citizens were freshly enrolled during the year 2018 under this scheme.
