Elderly jumps in front of metro train, dies
New Delhi: A 76-year-old man was crushed under the train in Welcome metro station on Monday morning. Police said that deceased was undergoing treatment for depression. He left a suicide note in the drawing-room of his house, and as per the note, he committed suicide on his own and nobody was responsible for it.
The deceased was identified as Khairaiti Lal who lived in Panchsheel Garden. Police said that they received a PCR call at 7:13 am that a person had come on track at Welcome metro station. On reaching the spot, the deceased wearing black lower white shirt was found under the metro train on platform number two. "Later, he was brought on to the platform in dead condition. He was crushed under the train and his head got severed," police said.
The investigating agency further said that Rs 1,620 were found in his body.
