Elaborate traffic arrangements for I-Day

NEW DELHI: In connection with the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday, elaborate traffic arrangements around Red Fort have been made.
Detailed traffic deployment will be in place to facilitate the movement of V.I.P. vehicles, invitees and general public to reach the place of function and also to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic in other parts of the city.
Around the Red Fort where the Independence day function would take place, the roads would be closed for general traffic from 5 am to 9 am and only labeled vehicles will be permitted are Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail, Lothian Road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail, S.P.Mukherjee Marg from H.C.Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk, Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort, Nishad Raj Marg from Ring Road to Netaji
Subhash Marg and Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg.
"Metro services on Blue Line will be operational as usual. However, boarding and de-boarding at Red Fort and Jama Masjid Metro Stations of Violet line will not be allowed after 6.30 am till the Independence Day function at Red Fort is over.
General public may use Delhi Metro and reach at Delhi Gate, Chandni Chowk or Kashmere Gate Metro Station to further reach Red Fort," said Joint CP, Traffic Garima Bhatnagar.
