Eight women arrested for involvement in thefts
NEW DELHI: Eight women have been arrested here for their alleged involvement in thefts and snatching incidents, the police said on Saturday.
The accused, who are members of 'Shabana gang' belong to Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh and have committed more than 100 thefts, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Kumar said.
On Wednesday, the accused allegedly robbed an elderly woman in front of a bank in Tilak Nagar. The bank's security guard apprehended one of the accused women and informed the police, the DCP said, adding her other accomplices managed to flee.
