ED seeks judicial custody of ex-Noida Authority chief engineer

LUCKNOW: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday moved a special court here seeking judicial custody of former Noida Authority chief engineer Yadav Singh in connection with its probe in a money laundering case against him.
The move comes after the Supreme Court earlier in the day granted bail to Singh, who has been chargesheeted by the ED in the case.
The relief was granted to Singh after his counsel said that the accused was entitled to statutory bail since the charge sheet was not filed by the ED within the stipulated period from the date of his arrest.
The ED and CBI have filed several cases against Singh.
The ED moved a fresh application before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Lucknow for judicial custody of Singh, officials said.
