Duo on speeding motorbike crash into parked truck, killed

Ghaziabad: Two youth, reportedly in their mid-twenties and working with a private company, died after the motorcycle they were traveling on collided into a stationary truck from behind on late Tuesday night.
Police said that none of the passengers were wearing helmets, which instantly killed them after the collision.
Sources in Ghaziabad Police said the incident took place in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad near Vasundhara red light.
The deceased were identified as Kapil (24) and Manoj (26), both natives of Maharajpur district, cops added.
Around 11 pm on Tuesday, the two victims were travelling back to their apartment from work on the motorcycle.
The over-speeding bike collided into the stationary truck, parked on the left side of the road to carry away the axed trees located by the side of the flyover near the red light, which were being axed for construction activities.
"Passersby communicated the incident to us, upon which a police team reached the spot and took victims to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival," said Sushil Kumar Dubey, station house officer, Indirapuram police station, on Wednesday
"The truck has been seized and the driver has been arrested after registering a case against him," he added.
Police further said that had the victims been wearing helmet, they would have survived the collision.
"Looking at the intensity of collision, we can make out that the bike was being driven at a very high speed at the time of the collision. Both of the victims suffered severe head injuries.
"The injuries could have been averted if the two youth were wearing a helmet," Dubey further said.
