DU student found dead in Karawal Nagar residence

NEW DELHI: The body of a female Delhi University student was found hanging in her rented accommodation in north east Delhi's Karawal Nagar.

According to police sources, the incident was reported on Saturday, after they got a PCR call from the landlord of the paying guest accommodation where the girl had been living.

Police sources said that they have not found any suicide note.

As per preliminary investigation, sources said that the case appears to be that of suicide by hanging.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Ajit Kumar Singla told reporters that on the day of the incident, police had received a call around 7.55 am.

A police team immediately reached the residence and brought down the girl hanging body.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead.

The deceased was a second-year student of BSc Mathematics (Hons) in a Delhi University college.
