DU admission for UG courses to start between April 20 and 25

The registrations for admission process to various undergraduate courses of the University of Delhi (DU) is likely to start from April 20 to April 25.

This year, the admission process is expected to start a month ahead of the regular schedule and will last until June. The online registration forms for may be available from April 20 to April 25.

"Online registration process will begin in the third week of April. There are some dates that are being considered. One of the dates suggested is April 20 but it could be any-time between April 20 and 25," said sources from the admission committee.

According to officials, early start of the registration process is to stop the last minute rush in top colleges. Also, this will give applicants enough time to complete the admission procedure.

A member of the admission committee stated that the students can start filling the application form before the announcement of their CBSE board result. "This step will give time to the students to upload all their documents properly. And, later, they can easily fill up their marks after the announcement of their result," added the member. The University had earlier planned to open registration process by March end but the plan failed.

Meanwhile, the varsity also scrapped the proposal to introduce entrance examination in the undergraduate courses for admissions. The varsity's Standing Committee on Admissions was earlier pondering over admitting undergraduate students through an entrance exam rather than the existing method of cut-offs based on Class XII results.

Despite the reports of organising the Delhi University undergraduate admission in entrance mode, now the varsity has informed Human Resources Ministry that the admission process in the university will be conducted in an old cut-off list system.
