Drunk men drive into police gypsy, injure three cops

NEW DELHI: Men under the influence of alcohol hit a standing emergency response vehicle of Delhi Police near the Pushta road at Shantivan late on Tuesday night injuring three cops in the gypsy.
The incident occurred at 1 am when a Tata Zest white colour car hit the police gypsy from behind.
The policemen Assistant Sub Inspector Shiv Kumar, Head Constable Ved Prakash and homeguard constable Santlal got injured by the collision impact. The offenders were caught and medically examined. During the medical examination it was made clear that the two men in the car Manish Kashyap, 25, a resident of Moradabad and his associate Abhishek, a resident of Delhi's Jagatpuri, were in an inebriated state.
The injured policeman were rushed to the hospital where after initial treatment the ASI and Head Constable were discharged but Home guard Santlal is still undergoing treatment in a Delhi hospital.
"We have registered a case under sections 279 and 337
of Indian penal code against the accused," said a senior police officer.
