Dreaded criminal arrested for Karnal triple murder
Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested one of the most notorious criminal Kaptan alias Praveen Karnal, wanted in a case of brutal daylight triple murder in Karnal, Haryana and a robbery case on Wednesday.
Kaptan is involved in nine cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion and even an attack on police personnel.
One sophisticated pistol of .32 bore with three live cartridges have been recovered from his possession.
A reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared by Haryana Police for his apprehension. He was arrested after a secret input.
Kaptan was subjected to sustained interrogation where he revealed that in the year 2003, he along with Rajesh, Naresh, Gulab Singh entered into a telecom tower business and his monthly share of forty to fifty thousand was fixed.
In the year 2003, he was involved in the murder of Anoop Pehalwan in Rohtak Court. He was arrested in the case and sentenced to life imprisonment.
While he was incarcerated, his partners stopped paying his share of the business. In the year, 2012, he was granted bail from Supreme Court.
After his release, Kaptan started demanding his share of payment from his partners.
"The partners avoided him and refused to pay his share. Kaptan alongwith his associates hatched a conspiracy to eliminate them.
"In December 2016, his associate Vijay informed him that Rajesh, Naresh, Gulab Singh would be coming to attend a marriage function at Karnal road in a banquet hall. Kaptan along with his seven associates came in a Fortuner SUV and way laid the vehicle of his partners 4 Km before the banquet hall. Kaptan along with the associates got off from the Fortuner and fired indiscriminately. Rajesh, Naresh and Gulab succumbed to their injuries while Manoj and Chand sustained grievious injuries," said Sanjeev Yadav, DCP Special Cell.
