'Don's hitman was in touch with Junaid to kill Tarek'

New Delhi: The police on Wednesday claimed that they have arrested a hitman of underworld Don Chota Shakeel from North East Delhi. Police also claimed that he was in contact with the arrested accused Junaid Choudhary who was planning to target a writer and well-known TV personality Tarek Fatah.
According to police, a team led by RP Meena, Additional. DCP-I (North East Delhi) laid down a trap near Tent Wala School, main 66-foot road, Jafrabad and nabbed the accused Naseem who tried to escape and started running. The team members apprehended him after a long chase and recovered Rs 1.98 lakh with one sophisticated pistol and four live cartridges.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Ajit Kumar Singla stated that during the interrogation, it was revealed the accused was wanted and carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 in the case wherein Delhi Police's special cell arrested an alleged Chota Shakeel aide name Junaid Choudhary who was planning to target a writer and well-known TV personality.
"Shakeel was in contact with Junaid and Naseem, a sharpshooter and close aide of the gangster, to give him directions about eliminating the writer," said the DCP.
Police claimed that the accused has disclosed that he was in contact with Chhota Shakeel. The accused also clamied that he had also met with one criminal namely Munna Singh through one more criminal Rashid in Bijnor Jail and conspired to eliminate some high profile personalities in Andhra Pradesh for getting a handsome amount in crores. He also disclosed that Chhota Shakeel asked him to eliminate one person who resides in Dwarka.
Keeping in the view of recent incidents of robbery and murders incidents in the area of North-East District & other parts of Delhi and Bordering areas of Delhi, a special drive against robbers and gangsters was started in the area of North East District. Informers were deputed, dossiers of criminals of same modus operandi were analysed and a sharp vigil mounted on the activities of the criminals.
Police alleged that Naseem, a resident of New Mustafabad (28), was born in village of Buland Shahar, UP. Ten years back, his family shifted to Mustafabad, Delhi where he started selling under Garments in street. Later on, he came in contact with criminals of areas and committed murder of one Shaheed to become a don of the area. Later on, he started committing robberies to earn fast money and also started extortion and came in contact with Chota Shakeel through Junaid Choudhary.
