District Officers who perform well to be rewarded: Minister

NEW DELHI: Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Tuesday announced that those District Officers who would perform well in their respective districts would be rightfully rewarded. The minister further instructed the under performing districts with as high pending cases were strictly instructed to clear such pending cases within a week's time.

After meeting with Member DDC, Director Social Welfare, senior officers from NIC, all DSWOs and concerned officers to review some important issues related to the old age and disability pensions. During reviewing the status of pendency of cases in pensions in all districts, it was found pendency is cleared up to average of 500 pending cases per day that comes average 50 per district. About issues related to the NIC portal, it was found that the functioning of the portal post 8pm was an issue which was highlighted.

Aadhaar based issues, such as that of verifying the age proof of the deceased would henceforth be linked to the death certificates issued by the four Municipal Corporations along the lines of voter ID cards. The Social Welfare Minister directed that drinking water availability should be mandatorily available in all district offices. Coffee/Tea machines shall be installed. All the above citizen friendly steps taken to ensure that the aged and the widows can have a decent waiting time. Toilets too to be cleaned without fail.

Mapping of localities was also an issue that needs innovative solutions. Increasing the uploading file size limit to 300KB was requested on the E-District website will be submitted as a note. The West District under Krishna Sharma was seen to be the best performing district with the record of average three times more clearing of pending cases than the rest of the districts. Better understanding of procedural laws was found to be the reason of West District's exemplary performance.
