District administration searches Dera's Gurugram ashram in Sector-50

GURUGRAM: In its order on Friday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court stated that losses caused by dera followers will be compensated by seizing assets of the religious sect.
Accordingly, the Gurugram district administration has begun the process of getting hold of the dera's ashram in Gurugram. Officials, however, said that they are not in the process of sealing the building.
Heavy security has deployed placed outside the ashram, located in the upscale of Sector-50 area near South City, to make sure that no congregation in and around the area takes place.
On Saturday, officials sought details of financial transactions of the Dera trust, headed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim, in the city. "We have asked sub-divisional magistrates and tehsiladaars to collect information about property owned by the Dera. A detailed list will be submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, "said Vinay Pratap Singh, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner.
As a fallout of Friday's violence initiated by dera goons, many properties and ashrams of the Dera Sacha Sauda are being raided and under constant surveillance.
The action from the Haryana government comes after reports of various dera followers being mobilised to create violence, following the pronouncement of punishment to Rahim on Monday.
