Disgruntled ex-employee held for murder of Tata Steel executive

Faridabad: Faridabad Police on Saturday night arrested Vishwaas Pandey for the murder Arindam Pal, a senior manager at the Tata Steel branch in the city's Bata Hardware road area.

Police said that in addition to Pal, there were three other senior executives in the company, namely Sunil Vats, Sandeep Singh, and Anand Vivek, that Pandey wanted to murder. Fortunately, Pandey was unable to find the other three men at the office.

On Sunday, Pandey was sent to three-day police remand after being produced before a court. Cops are now trying to secure enough evidence to implicate Pandey of the murder.

Law enforcement officials claimed that ever since he was sacked from his job due to a poor appraisal prepared by his seniors four months ago, Pandey started hatching a plan to exact revenge. To this end, he purchased a .32 bore pistol for Rs 85,000.

On November 9, Taking advantage of the fact that there would be fewer people in the office due to an extended Diwali break, he came to the Tata Steel office citing some paperwork. However, Pandey went to the first floor where Pal's office is located and sensing that there was no one, he took out a .32 bore pistol and pumped five bullets into Pal's abdomen and fled the spot. Pal was immediately taken to the Fortis Escorts hospital, where he died.

In June, infuriated at being fired, an employee of a Japanese automobile company opened fire and injured the company's human resource wing head in Gurugram.
