'Different claims over income in domestic violence cases'

In a domestic violence case, usually the wife exaggerates her husband's income and the husband claims to be penniless, a Delhi court has observed while turning down a woman's plea to enhance her monthly maintenance.
Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar on Tuesday dismissed the woman's appeal against a magisterial court order awarding her an interim maintenance of Rs 3,000 per month in a harassment case lodged by her against her husband. "It is a common practice that in such cases," judge further said.
