Delhi sealing: Traders call for strike and 'mega rally' today

NEW DELHI: Protesting against the 'arbitrary' sealing drive in Delhi, more than 7 lakh business establishments in over 3,000 markets will remain closed on March 28. Traders will also hold a mega rally at Ramlila Maidan asking the government to protect them from the ongoing sealing drive. Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that not only traders but also their employees will participate in the rally. "Traders across the city will not send their children to schools and colleges on March 28 as a mark of protest. CAIT, all Delhi traders, and Vyapari & Workers Association will jointly organise the rally," he said.
Khandelwal said, "More than 3,000 commercial markets, including Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Sadar Bazar, South Extension, Rajouri Garden, Vikas Marg, Chawri Bazar, will remain closed.
