Delhi police organises 'Neighbourhood Watch Scheme'

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Saturday has facilitated the best-secured societies, DDA and a village in Dwarka district. Police stated that the team members secretly visited the societies and check the ground reality and how the security system is functioning in these societies, DDA and villages.

According to police, Dwarka District organized a programme on Saturday in National Law University, Sector 14 in Dwarka to promote Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in Societies, DDA Pockets and Villages of Dwarka Sub-City.

"For this, nominations were called from all the societies/DDA pockets/villages. In this whole exercise, 227 societies out of total 351, 43 DDA Pockets out of total 52 and all 09 villages filled their forms," police said.

A Screening Committee comprising of 10 members scrutinized all the received forms and selected 25 societies, 25 DDA Pockets and all nine villages for a security audit.

Police claimed that the best-secured society was DJA in Sec-13 Dwarka, Shubham Apartment in Sec-12 was given best secured DDA Pkt and Dhool Siras was the best village.

RP Upadhyaya, Special CP law and order (South) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Madhup Tewari, Joint CP (Western Range), Anto Alphonse DCP (Dwarka District), Monika Bhardwaj, DCP (West) and other senior officers of Dwarka District graced the programme with their presence.

R P Upadhyaya felicitated the residents of selected best-secured Societies, DDA Pocket, village with a trophy.

Apart from these three Prahari, three Police Mitra and three public persons were also appreciated and rewarded for their good work and help in policing.
