Delhi Police goes door to door to meet senior citizens

NEW DELHI: To ensure the safety and security for senior citizens in the national Capital, Delhi Police plans to regularly visit the houses of elderly residents in the city to know about their problems and build confidence among them.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East, Romil Baaniya, on Twitter, said they were interacting with senior citizens in their district to know about their safety and wellness, and helping them.
DCP, West, Vijay Kumar said they have organised a programme for registration of senior citizens and verification of their tenants and servants, which is being organised in all police stations in the district.
Police sources said that during the visit by police personnel, the security of a house, status of domestic help and whether or not they are verified, etc are ascertained. Delhi Police also has a Senior Citizens Cell, which works for the safety and well-being of the elderly living in the national Capital.
