Delhi Police busts robbers' gang

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday busted a gang of robbers involved in robberies in Delhi Cantt area. The investigating agency said that to commit the crime and evade arrest they used to hide in the jungle of Ridge road and railway line near Dhaula Kuan and look for the soft targets to rob them. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Devender Arya said that on the intervening night of 23/24 April, Constable Umesh and Constable Parveen who were on area patrolling near Dhaula Kuan flyover noticed two persons raising alarm "CHOR-CHOR" and seen three young boys running towards railway line near Dhaula Kuan. Responding to the hue and cry they immediately swung into action and started chasing the culprits.

"After a hot case Ct Umesh successfully apprehended one of the accused person later identified as Rahul Kashyap on the railway line while the reaming two accused persons managed to escape in the dark," said DCP Arya. In the meantime Ct. Parveen informed motorcycle patrolling staff about the incident.

Responding to the call Ct Mukesh and Ct Dharmender who were on motorcycle patrolling also reached the spot and started searching for the remaining accused person and later identified as Surinder who was hiding in the jungle near railway line to evade arrest. In the meantime, complainants who were robbed by the accused persons also reached the railway line and identified them on the spot. During sustain interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they hails from UP and Bihar.
