Delhi Police busts intl drug cartel, recovers 11.7 kg drugs worth Rs 2.70 cr

NEW DELHI: Ahead of New year the Delhi Police Crime branch has busted an international racket involved in importing Marijuana, Marijuana oil and wax from USA. The delhi Police has arrested two members of the gang. They revealed that international courier services were used to bring drugs to India. The estimated cost of the drugs in the international market is `2 crore 70 lakhs and the weight is 11.7 kg.

On 26 December, credible information was received by Crime branch team that Sahil and Ridham, who are involved in the import of Marijuana/Ganja from USA will come to collect a consignment of imported Ganja from a courier's Branch at Rama Road, Moti Nagar, Delhi. A trap was laid and the two were arrested.

During the search, five cartons were found in their possession which was imported from USA. The cartons were opened and toy gift packs were found inside the cartons. These toy gifts packs were further opened and three packets (470 gms each), filled with Ganja/Marijuana, were recovered, in each of the gift packs. Total 7.050 Kg Ganja was recovered from their possession. Further, On search of Sahil, 50 Gram of fine quality Malana Cream Charas, was also recovered.

After accused persons disclosure statements, one carton containing three packets of imported ganja, weighing 480 gram, which was concealed in a Toy gift box, 26 shatters, distillate cartridge of marijuana THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), 50 gram of Cannabis Wax, were seized from a courier Rama road, Moti Nagar, Delhi.

"The accused person used to communicate through Dark web as it is safe. The dark web content that exists on the darknets, overlay networks but requires specific software, configurations, or authorization to access. Users of the dark web prefer it due to its unencrypted nature.

"The Darknet websites are accessible only through networks such as Tor (The onion routing project) and I2P (invisible internet Project) Tor focuses on providing anonymous access to the internet. Identities and locations of users stay anonymous and

cannot be tracked due to the layered encryption system," said Additional CP Crime
