Delhi Police arrests three members of Kranti gang

New Delhi: To arrange the fund for the treatment of a bullet injury, which the gangster received during an encounter with police near a Metro station on December 4, led to his arrest from Dwarka area on Friday.

The law enforcement agency claimed that two more associates from the Kranti gang were also nabbed. Police identified the accused as Devender Kumar, Shekhar and Ravinder Kumar.

A Delhi Police press statement claimed that on December 4, a shootout took place in the area of Dhaula Kuan, in which dreaded carjacker and member of the Rajesh Bharti led Kranti gang Jitender was arrested while his associates managed to escape. Two of the gang members -- Devender and Ranveer Saini -- were injured during the shootout with the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav claimed that they took medical aid covertly where they were advised for further treatment from specialists. "Information received further revealed that in order to arrange the funds for their medical treatment, Devender along with other gang members Shekhar and Ravinder would come to Dwarka from Gurugram. A trap was laid and the accused were arrested," said the DCP.

A reward of Rs one lakh was declared on his arrest while Rs 50,000 was declared on the arrest of accused Shekhar by Delhi Police.
