Delhi govt delaying Metro Phase-II work: Vijender Gupta

NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Sunday held the Delhi government responsible for the delay in completion of Delhi Metro's third phase.

Gupta said, "Phase-III of Delhi Metro was planned to be completed by December 16, 2016. But due to inaction of the Delhi government, the work was delayed by over 15 months, the answers for which he would demand during the Delhi Assembly session to be held on October 9."
The BJP MLA said currently Delhi Metro serves 30 lakh passengers per day on its 217 km of existing infrastructure. On completion of Phase-III, that includes additional 100 kms of Metro line, passenger movement would rise to 50 lakhs per day.
