Delhi Fire Service rescues labourer trapped inside a pit in Shastri Park

New Delhi: Delhi Fire Service (DFS) on Tuesday said that they have rescued a 40-year-old labourer who got trapped inside a pit in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area. The victim has been identified as Mohammad Tavrej.

The fire service said it received a distress call at 9.50 am and rushed two fire tenders to the accident site.

According to DFS, the man was trapped in the loose mud while he was digging a pit. He was taken out and rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital by the fire officials. "Later, he was shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital in an unconscious state," the officials added.

DCP (North-East) Ved Prakash Surya said that they received a call in the morning regarding a person fell in the pit. During the investigation, it was found that a portion of the mud wall fell on Tavrej when he was working. "He was rushed to the hospital where he is receiving treatment," police said.
