Delhi BJP chief inaugurates SDMC's first smart primary school building

New Delhi: Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, who inaugurated SDMC's first model/smart Primary School building, said that the Corporation will build 39 more such model schools in first phase out of 100 model/smart schools in its all four zones. This model school is well equipped with latest facilities like, smart class, nursery class, computer lab, science lab, CCTV cameras, multi play stations bulletin board, hall for indoor games, English medium, medical room, library room, ramp for physically disabled children, water harvesting system and water coolers.

Tiwari said that this building will go a long way in developing a better environment conducive to learning. It is evident that SDMC is committed to provide quality education along with computer learning to the students of the economically backward.

Standing Committee Chairperson Shikha Rai said that the two-storey building is RCC framed structure with earthquake resistant strength. The construction cost of this school building is around Rs 2 crore and it is well equipped with all the modern facilities. There are 10 classrooms, two store rooms, one big hall, separate toilets for handicapped girls and boys, one fire exit/escape, addition to this there is provision of water harvesting, drinking water facility and ramp for handicapped persons.

Education Committee Chairperson Nandini Sharma said that 2.38 lakh students, including 1.15 lakh boys and 1.22 lakh girls, are getting education in 581 primary schools. There are 14 independent nursery schools and also there is a facility of nursery classes in 336 primary schools.
