Woman strangled to death by servant in daylight robbery in Amar Colony

In a daylight robbery incident, a servant along with his associates robbed and murdered a 53-year-old woman in south east Delhi's Amar Colony area on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when the husband and son of the deceased were away.
The cops have formed several teams to arrest the accused servant, identified as Roushan.
The deceased, Sarita Jain, was alone in the house, except her servants, when she heard a knock on her door, but before she could react the servant Roushan opened the door giving entry to his three to four associates. The men then tied the other servant Rajan and Sarita with ropes and started looking for jewellery and cash.
However, when Sarita raised an alarm the men strangulated her.
"It seemed that one of the servant conspired with his other associates to commit the crime," said DCP South East Romil Baaniya.
The police is now checking for various details of the servant who is absconding after the incident. The investigation with the family revealed that the family did not carry out the servant verification of the accused. The cops have formed several teams to arrest the accused who is still at large.
"The accused has started working in the house just two weeks ago. We have formed team to trace him and his associates. The case has been registered under section 397, 302/34 in Amar Colony Police Station," added the officer.
