Uber completes 2 mn 'uberMOTO' trips in India

Uber's bike-sharing service 'uberMOTO' has completed two million trips in India.

Cab-hailing service Uber's bike-sharing service 'uberMOTO' has completed two million trips in India, with a female rider in Gurugram taking the highest number of rides, accounting for 1,393 trips in one year.
"uberMOTO gives riders the option to book a motorbike ride through the Uber app, a mode of transport that has long been the preferred way to get around cities in India," said Prabhjeet Singh, GM, Uber (Delhi and North India), in a statement on Tuesday.
The service is currently available in Gurugram, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
The company said that visitor-riders from 181 cities across the world booked a ride on uberMOTO in India, and every 18 seconds, an uberMOTO ride is being requested in Hyderabad.
"With 'uberMOTO', commuters can ride and swiftly maneuver through traffic and save time travelling by motorbike when and where it makes sense, such as for short trips in heterogenous traffic that's more easily navigated through small vehicle, or along routes where public transport isn't easily accessible or convenient," the company said.
