234 booked for drunken driving in South Delhi

With a view to curb the incidents of drunken driving, the traffic police in southern range has intensified action for such violations.

As a result, the southern range traffic has prosecuted 234 persons during the last weekend i.e. July 8, 9 and 10.

"The joint checking with the active assistance of local police was conducted at strategic locations in Nehru Place, Hauz Khas, Greater Kailash and many more locations in South district " said DCP Traffic Vijay Singh.

Of the total of 234 prosecutions, 51 were reported in the area of south district and 183 in the area of south east district.

The officers conducting the special drive were deployed with body worn cameras.

The cops would continue the action against drunken driving especially during the weekend in the coming days as well.
