Bouncers looked away while girl was molested in Ggn pub

A girl who went out for partying with her friends in a MG Road pub alleged on Sunday that she was molested by a group of boys who were present over there.

After the incident, there was a brawl between the girl's male friends and the boys which then resulted in the girl to report matter to Gurugram police officials who were present there on duty.

The incident was reported at12:30 am on Sunday.

In her verbal complaint, the girl alleged that the group of boys who were drunk made lewd comments and also manhandled her after she did not pay heed to their overtures.

Immediately after the incident was reported, the police detained the boys.

Meanwhile, the friends of the girl alleged that there was no support by the security staff in handling the situation.

"We have received a verbal complaint from the girl and have detained the boys for questioning. We will go with the case further based on the written complaint by the girl. Our team is on surveillance round the clock to ensure that women who come to MG Road are safe and secure," said Inspector Vikas Kaushik, SHO Sector-29.

With increase in cases of crime, the Gurugram Police have increased the surveillance at the area, especially during weekends when a large number of visitors frequent the pubs and restaurants at MG Road.

"The Gurugram Police have started a campaign against drunken driving, large number of cases of which is reported from MG Road.

We have also given strict directions to bars of not encouraging under-age drinking," said Deepak Saharan DCP (East) Gurugram Police.

Even though police claim that large number of its personnel is deployed to reduce crime at MG Road, residents at of the area claim that the situation has not improved much at Mall Mile.
