Wall collapses in south east Delhi, kills taxi driver

A taxi driver died after a wall collapsed on him in south-east Delhi's Sriniwaspuri area on Saturday.
Bystanders tried to rescue 52-year-old Hardeep Singh from under the wall and rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead.
According to police, they received a call that the wall of a school had collapsed on a person.
However, on reaching the spot, cops found out that the wall belonged to a Delhi Jal Board structure, measuring around 65 feet, under which Singh was trapped.
The locals and police worked together to recover the victim from the debris. Singh was then taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead. The victim's family has been informed.
"We have registered a case of 304 A of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating into the incident,"said Romil Baaniya, DCP, South East.
