A robber, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest, was held on Wednesday after a shootout with cops in New Friend's Colony.
The criminal, identified as Chand alias Matru, fired at the guard in Jamia Nagar after he and his two accomplices tried to rob a house in February this year. While he along with his accomplice Zahid managed to escape, Arif was caught by the guard despite being hit with a bullet.
On July 4 at about 1:30 am, the cops saw two persons coming on a motorcycle from Zakir Nagar taking a turn to proceed towards Faridabad. While Chand Md was caught, the pillion rider managed to escape taking the advantage of the cover fire by his accomplice. One sophisticated pistol along with four live cartridges and one stolen motor bike was recovered from his possession.
